Ingredients
  

Meatloaf Mixture

  • 2 pounds ground beef (80/20 lean-to-fat ratio)
  • 1 onion finely chopped
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup ketchup
  • 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C)
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, chopped onion, beaten eggs, breadcrumbs, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, garlic powder, salt, and pepper
  • Mix gently until well combined, being careful not to overmix
  • Shape the mixture into a loaf and place it in a loaf pan or on a baking dish
  • Bake for approximately 1 hour or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (71°C) for beef
  • Remove from oven and let rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving

Notes

Use a meat thermometer to ensure your meatloaf is cooked safely to 160°F. Resting is crucial to allow juices to redistribute and finish cooking.
