Ingredients
  

Fruit Roll-Up Base

  • 1 packet Kool-Aid powder any flavor
  • 1 cup applesauce unsweetened
  • 2 tbsp sugar adjust to taste
  • 1 tbsp honey or corn syrup helps with texture

Optional Add-ins

  • 0.25 tsp citric acid for extra tanginess
  • 1 drop food coloring optional, for more vibrant color
  • 0.25 tsp vanilla extract for added flavor

Instructions
 

  • Preheat your oven to the lowest setting, around 170°F (77°C).
  • In a mixing bowl, combine the applesauce, Kool-Aid powder, sugar, and honey or corn syrup. Add any optional ingredients if using. Mix until smooth.
  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  • Spread the fruit mixture evenly onto the lined baking sheet to about 1/8 inch thick, using an offset spatula or the back of a spoon.
  • Place the baking sheet in the oven and bake for 4-6 hours, checking occasionally. The fruit leather is done when it is no longer sticky to the touch.
  • Remove from the oven and let cool completely.
  • Cut the cooled fruit leather into strips using scissors or a pizza cutter.
  • Roll up each strip with parchment paper and store in an airtight container.
